Democracy Sausage for PM!

Democracy Sausage for PM! Originally shared by Paul Snedden July 2nd, 2016 National Sausage Sizzle Day in #Australia What’s a sausage sizzle, I hear you ask? WHAT’S A SAUSAGE SIZZLE? Sit down my friend, you are about to learn some stuff about #Australian cultural life. A sausage sizzle occurs in large public spaces, on hot sunny days Down Under (which pretty much means all year round, except for Melbourne cos Mexican weather sux). A sausage sizzle is either free, as a draw to the event, or a fundraiser, in which it is acceptable to charge up to $2 for your sausage sizzle (gold coin donation). It must be a fundraiser for a local community organisation, however. Scouts, public schools, bush fire brigades, surf life saving clubs etc are all appropriate causes for the fundraiser sausage sizzle. A single sausage, presented on a single piece of white bread with (or without) margarine. You can choose from two kinds of sauces - tomato or barbecue - however, in recent times, mustard is also con...

The AN-225 landed in Perth today - some two hours late, thanks to Jakata ATC, but hey... Perth Airport put together an amazing effort to accommodate the public - a 30,000 capacity viewing area on the East side, as well as opening up Western Viewing Platform quite a bit more. Toilets and food vans were put on - although they could have put on some more food vans, given the delays - but they could not have predicted that. There were plenty of liaison staff wandering about the crowds, and a subtle security presence. Traffic control on the ground was amazing, and about the only thing that they could have added was some hotspots in the viewing areas - the 3g and 4g networks were jammed solid, and that made getting information in and photos out a challenge. And the 225 itself? It wowed the crowd, just as predicted. A shame it did not come in from the South, but it did mean we got a great view of the taxi-past. #antonovperth #perthairport #planespotting

Shocked, shocked I am that the LNP would stoop to illegal activities in an election campaign. Originally shared by Jamez Frondeskias Christopher Pyne - premature erection? Seriously? Via Nick Xenophon ..... Election posters were put up today in a number of electorates, disadvantaging candidates who play by the rules. In SA, and in other states, there are strict rules that prohibit the erection of advertising materials on public infrastructure prior to the issuing of election writs. In SA, election material cannot go up until 6pm on the day writs are issued. If you see a prematurely erected poster before 6pm the day the election is called, please take a photo and post it in the comments below with details of the location you saw it so formal complaints can be made to local councils on Monday morning. If a political party is prepared to break the rules now, what will their candidates get up to in the course of the election campaign and worse still, how will they behave if elected?

The signature trait of an espresso is the layer of crema. It consists of stabilized foam created from a complex array of organic surfactants liberated in the brewing process. Carbon dioxide, liberated from the coffee grounds when subjected to hot water, fills the bubbles, which is perhaps one acceptable use for this greenhouse gas. The brewing takes place under pressure, up to 8 atmospheres (over 100 PSI), and when released into your cup, the sudden drop in pressure coupled with all the organic complexities creates this wonderful foam. The crema has a lower density than coffee so it floats on the surface as a cohesive mass. The bubbles slowly pop, releasing olfactory essence that greets our nose and contributes to the whole culinary effect. In space the olfactory sensations will be different. ...
