While the official publication date of A STAR IN THE VOID isn't until Thursday, June 14th, It's available now as a pre-order and at a special price - just $2.99 until release day - tomorrow!

Did you say you hadn't read any of the series yet, so buying book 5 doesn't make any sense? Well, you can pick up the 1st book (DERELICT) for a sweet $0.99.

If you buy all 5 ebooks now, that's $18.95 (nearly 25% off) for half a million words of story! Regular price for the whole series is $24.95.

Available wherever ebooks are sold.

Well, it is like this.

A few days ago we received our new solar cookers from GoSun . We'd backed the Gosun Go packable prototypes, and also decided to grab a Gosun Sport Pro Pack before the GST madness set in.

They arrived within 48 hours of each other.

Just a few hours ahead of three days of storms.

Fortunately, just after lunch today we had a few hours of patchy sun, so we thought we'd give them a try.

Now imagine this. It is 17C, and blowing cold gusty SW winds just after significant storms. And we are setting up a solar cooker.

In the Sport we threw in some kebabs, while in the pair of little Gos we put some damper on the bake.

The kebabs were done in just over an hour, and the damper took about the same time. So, as the afternoon sun started to break up, we put on some meatballs in the Sport.

And they cooked up perfectly in time for the sun to vanish behind the treeline.

So we'd cooked damper and two meat dishes in decidedly sub-optimal conditions over the course of two and …

Last night we saw an absolutely stunning production of Macbeth, put on by GRADS, with Stephen Lee in the title role, and directed by Grant Malcom.

Alicia Smith has written a brilliant review of the show.

If you are in Perth and can get to UWA, it is well worth the effort.

Opening on a midweek night where the weather decided to emulate that of Scotland you’d expect that there wouldn’t be much of an audience but the Dolphin was at about half capacity, and they were lucky because this was a great show.

This is a production in which GRADS is once more looking more slick and in the groove than some professional troupes I’ve seen. With a huge cast – 26! spangled with experienced performers like Stephen Lee and Jenny Howard, directed with Grant Malcolm’s the sure touch it’s a substantial offering. Even on the first …

$40 refund and a confidentiality agreement?

$40 refund and a confidentiality agreement? How kind of them after putting this coeliac in hospital. You can have a mixed kitchen. The excellent Kewdale Tavern, Fast Eddie's Perth, and Pancho's Mexican restaurant all have Coeliac Society approvals on their doors and all have been great.

For coeliacs who want to be absolutely sure, but still want to eat out there's the Health Freak chain and the newly Coeliac Society Accredited (first in WA) and quite lovely Bayside Barista in Safety Bay.
