I've organised a free photowalk along the Cottesloe foreshore on the afternoon of June 27. If you've got an interest in photography, or just want an excuse to take some winter sea-side photos, this will be a lot of fun! Originally shared by Rob Masters Free Cottesloe Photowalk - Supported by Dots To Spots Printing and Camera Electronic ( http://www.cameraelectronic.com.au ). A social Photowalk along the Cottesloe foreshore from Grant St to the Cottesloe Groyne. This is for photographers of all levels, and will be a lot of fun. We will be starting from the Grant Marine Park, near the corner of Marine Pde and Grant St, and finishing near the Surf Lifesaving Club. After, we can retire to either the OBH or the Cottesloe Hotel to chat and compare notes. A map of our route is here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=z0azKEDbGFZc.k38OfhzwQM60&usp=sharing Cottesloe offers all sorts of opportunities for subjects - some great buildings, stunning seaside geography, ships and boat

Derived from a found collection of photos and notebooks, this short video is accompanied by the question "What is going on?" The original file contains notebooks suggesting an extended investigation but no actual additional information, and the unnamed department responsible claims in one notebook to have no records tying to it. Further, the request for an explanation itself appears to have been falsified. What do you think is going on?

I don't watch the show (I watch very little TV at all), but I have a lot of respect for it. And even more now!

What they don't mention (and this is the coolest - but not the most important - feature) is that you can now create stories for arbitrary photos, and from within albums. In fact you can create any auto awesome from inside an album now. Including animations and movies. Originally shared by Ananda Sim Some details on the new standalone Photos App by Anil Sabharwal

Remember those wind-turbine kites in Big Hero 6? Google is working on making them real! via Dave Besbris  Originally shared by Makani A few weeks ago, we gave you a sneak peek of our 600kW energy kite as we moved it out into the world. Now we’re ready to test it, starting this month here in Northern California.  We’ve already tested the 600kW energy kite’s subsystems over the past few months, and this will be the first time we see how everything works together. While we can’t wait to see our new energy kite fully in action, we’re going to start off slowly by testing things incrementally. We need to get to know our energy kite first, and have it complete individual tasks successfully before giving it more advanced tasks. This means repeatedly performing functions as basic as powering the kite’s motors on and off, or getting the kite to hover with shorter tethers before we use a full-length tether. By testing close to our Alameda headquarters, our team will be able to quickly solve any i

"Five Remixes of Two Photos" WPP 2015 - Week 20 - Playing with light Weekly Photo Project 2015 curated by Alen Ianni , Bernhard Rembold , Cliff Loresco , Francesco Scaglioni , Heather D ,  Ken Fowkes ,  Navin Upendran  , Robyn King and T.E. Smith #WPP2015 #WPP2015-Wk20-PlayWIthLight This started life as a couple of light trail studies in an attempt to inspire myself for this theme. Taken at my local train station waiting for the train to work, and then edited in Snapseed while on the train to the office. Then I saved them in an album and shared that as a sort of plea for inspirational comments.  Then I looked at the album summary display - and the idea of using AutoAwesome to generate a collage of the edited shots burst into being. A couple of tries later - and you get this rather oddball submission.  The title is inspired by the title of OK Go's album "Twelve Remixes of Four Songs".

I play Disc Golf, and enjoy it a great deal. I also enjoy photography, and have a camera with me most of the time.  Sunday just gone saw the 2015 Chick Flick (a tournament focussing on female players) here in Perth, held at the Rob Hancock Memorial course, and I decided to concentrate on recording the event, rather than playing. Although the name and entry classifications are rather jokey ("Chicks", "Not Chicks", and "Not Chicks Dressed as Chicks"), actual play is pretty darn intense, and scoring divisions were split along more traditional lines, with Women's Open and Advanced, and Men's Open, Advanced, and Rec divisions. Play was two rounds of 12, followed by a final 6 for the top-card Women's Open players. We had 11 women playing - which was a great turnout, given the quite small size of the Perth disc golfing community. As you can see from the photos, conditions were ... challenging, to say the least, with gusts over 50km/h and pounding rain
