This is a great game, and well worth supporting. Plus, Wez is a fellow sandgroper! The big question is "Will someone back the Ludicrous Level?" Disclaimer: I've backed it, and I have been a playtester. I know what I'm getting into. This is a sample of their gorgeous food, and an unexpected opportunity for this week's theme, naturally   lit by the sun setting over the Indian Ocean.

Thanks to Ryan Prince for the link. This really does make me, as a photographer, think about the impact my images might have if taken into another context, or with a different commentary. Hey! No one has shared this Ira Glass quote in like, six months! So it's time to share it again. One of the hardest parts of self-publishing I've found is this: I am confident in my writing now, at least on the non-fiction side of things. But the other things you have to do to publish a book and get it out there? There is a big freaking gap between what I want and what I can do.

And the official initial announcement from Virgin.

And the official initial announcement from Virgin. One pilot has since been taken to hospital with serious injuries, and the other confirmed as having died. Again, my deepest sympathies to the families, and I hope the injured test pilot makes a full recovery. Originally shared by Virgin Galactic Virgin Galactic's partner Scaled Composites conducted a powered test flight of SpaceShipTwo earlier today.  During the test, the vehicle suffered a serious anomaly resulting in the loss of the vehicle.  The WhiteKnightTwo carrier aircraft landed safely. Our first concern is the status of the pilots, which is unknown at this time.  We will work closely with relevant authorities to determine the cause of this accident  and provide updates as soon as we are able to do so.

Thanks to John Samuel for the alert.

Thanks to John Samuel for the alert. Sadly the tweets are accurate, and Spaceship Two (but not White Knight Two) has suffered a catastrophic failure, and crashed. At least one pilot ejected, but only one has survived, albeit with major injuries. I hope the survivor recovers, and my deepest sympathies to the families and everyone at Virgin Galactic and Scaled Composites. http://abc7.com/news/virgin-galactic-rocket-explodes-in-flight-over-mojave-desert/375054/ Originally shared by John Samuel I'm seeing reports on twitter of a failure of SpaceshipTwo with possible loss of life. Sympathies to the families involved. I'm still hopeful that this will be unsubstantiated, but I'm increasingly fearful that it IS true (multiple sources are reporting). A bad week for aerospace.
