With Spring come the preventative burnoffs in the Perth hills, and the sunsets are spectacular. North Mole marks the entrance to Fremantle Harbour, and is also a popular fishing spot.

It was Ace Race day today, this time at the new Chichester Park course. 44 holes of fun! At the final counting, we had a tie at 3A/3M, and went to a sudden death play-off between myself and Michael Wombell​. I was lucky enough to sink an ace on the second throw, and won my first Ace Race! Oh man! Now Ubuntu's about to become a teenager. In a few releases we're going to get Angsty Aardvark, with a new default theme of various shades of black. Performance is going to go to pot, except for the music player, which will be awesome (if depressing). On the up side we will see improvements in word processing, with the addition of various poetry-related tools, and better art tools, although the colour palettes will, by default, be limited to white, red, and 64k shades of black. This site is not one I've heard about, and there are at least two other observatory-type sites we have heard about, in casual conversation and in lectures. This would, however, be the most engineered of them that we've heard about to date. This weekend just past, Michael Goh​ was planning on running an astrophotography tutorial and photowalk up at The Pinnacles, as a part of Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photo Walk​. Sadly, the weather did not cooperate, and he wisely cancelled the event. We are really looking forward to Take Two! Despite this, Alicia Smith​ and I (and a couple of others) went up anyway, because, hey - roadtrip! and paid a visit to the Pinnacles in the late afternoon. Along the way there we stopped by the Gravity Discovery Centre just outside Gingin (Hi! Manager GDC​ ). The following day we explored Cervantes, and stopped in at various picturesque spots along the way back. ...
