Week 12 : Sky / Clouds

"Just another bloody beautiful Western Australian sunset..."

Having missed two days of thunderstorms, I have to console myself with some of the aftermath.

Interesting treatment of that famous speech that went viral internationally and locally.

April 5th is www.tabletopday.com.

April 5th is www.tabletopday.com. And the day Western Australia votes again for the Senate (it is a long story). I guess I'll have to pull out Credo and Werewolf... and maybe Betrayal at House on the Hill. Any other suggestions?

And here is the second of my political postings, although really it is Alicia Smith's.

And here is the second of my political postings, although really it is Alicia Smith's. Visit belowtheline.org.au. Look at what the party ticket votes above the line actually mean, and consider if you can do a better job of distributing your preferences yourself.

While you are at it, do a bit of research - find out what these people stand for - and who they stand for. Do you want to be represented by an associate of a major mining magnate? Do you want to be represented by a rabid socialist? Howabout a raving gun nut? Or someone who puts sharks above people? If you don't read up about them how do you know?

Lastly, do as Alicia suggests, and learn more about how the senate elections work, and remember that the only way you can waste your vote is to vote informal. Or not vote at all.

Vote responsibly - it is supposed to be your government. Make it so.

Week 11 : Rule of Thirds

A fairly basic application of the Rule of Thirds, and not really a very interesting one. On the other hand, the Cottesloe Pylon is a favourite subject of mine, and it was particularly photogenic this evening with a brewing thunderstorm across the sunset forming the backdrop.

Behind me, there are dozens of other photographers taking shots of the various installations that make up http://www.sculpturebythesea.com/ for 2014.

You're only going to get a couple of political things from me ahead of the senate re-run.

You're only going to get a couple of political things from me ahead of the senate re-run. This extraordinary speech (and attendant meme)  is one of them.

The other will be if belowtheline come on-line again. Remember: You can only waste your vote by voting informal.

Week 9 : Numbers or Letters

Brolgas are a bird, you see - a sort of crane.

This is on the side of a houseboat on the Murray River, Western Australia, in North Yunderup.
