Del Torro on the female lead of Pacific Rim, which I had the unexpected pleasure of seeing last night.
First things first - it is a daikaiju movie, with all that goes with that, but toss aside your memories of Sandy Frank's mutilated imports. This is a quality movie, with decent acting, a sensible plot, and great effects. Largely off-screen politicians aside, no-one is especially stupid (except for one character - but that gets explained), and the pacing is good. Even the 3d is not annoying. And the dedications at the end of the credits are touching.
8/10 and Godzilla and Gamera vs Voltron on the Sid and Nancy scale.

I think 3D done right is the best way to see a movie conversly 3d done wrong is the worst way to see a movie.
