Andrew Rader tweeted:
Hoth must have a food chain that could support an ecological niche for wampas. Absent seasonal terrestrial vegetation, it looks like there may be a liquid ocean, so wampas are basically extraterrestrial polar bears?

Diane Duane tweeted:
NOW we've hit the interesting stuff. First thing I said after Luke bolted into the storm after chopping that poor thing's arm off: "But what do they eat usually? I mean besides tauntauns? And what do the tauntauns eat??"

Andrew Rader tweeted:
Right, if tauntauns are native to Hoth, what is their food chain based on? Unless there is seasonal vegetation, tauntaun food could also be based on aquatic life. Maybe tauntauns are giant marine iguanas, and we just skipped the swimming portion of ESB?
