I've been looking for a good lighting-strike mapping service for Perth for some time - ever since the GPATS service was taken off-line a few years back. Now the folks at TKUP have got one running  - in near real-time!

    That north-south lineup looks odd ... I wonder if it is an artifact of the sensor?
