In case you missed it - this week it was announced an Australian-developed malaria vaccine has passed initial human clinical trials. The first volunteer to receive the vaccine - which could save hundreds of thousands of lives every year - was one of the lead reserachers from Queensland: http://oak.ctx.ly/r/5j0bs
