I am very much a pacifist. I hate the idea of war, and of a military.

But.

Sometimes they are needed. Less often than they are used, but sometimes it is necessary.

For that reason, we should respect those who have served and paid the ultimate price.

We must never forget that war is an horrific thing. And we must never forget those who served.

For those reasons, even more than ANZAC Day, Remembrance Day and the minute of silence should be respected.
