Das Boot has cultural currency, and is submarine related. However it's primarily GERMAN cultural currency, and the submarines causing the grief are JAPANESE. Which brings us to #KanColle where submarines are portrayed as girls wearing swimsuits. Torn swimsuits if they get damaged. I fear for the day that an Australian political cartoonist stumbles across #KanColle and connects it to the self inflicted damage of this government... You may now reach for the Brain Bleach.
